Safeguarding
Safeguarding
Every child deserves to be safe, respected, and heard.
Our Commitment
Every Child Deserves Safety and Dignity.
Lovia School is committed to protecting the safety, dignity, wellbeing, and rights of every child in its care, and concerns about a child's welfare should be taken seriously and handled responsibly.
Safeguarding is part of the responsibility adults carry when children are entrusted to their care. It begins with treating children with dignity, maintaining appropriate boundaries, supporting respectful relationships, and keeping their welfare at the center of decisions that affect them.
Our Principles
Protecting the Whole Child.
Safeguarding is connected to the kind of school community we seek to build — one in which children are treated with respect, adults understand their responsibilities, and concerns about a child's welfare are not dismissed.
Dignity
Every child should be treated with dignity and respect.
Wellbeing
A child's physical and emotional wellbeing should remain an important consideration in decisions that affect them.
Appropriate Boundaries
Adults entrusted with children carry a responsibility to maintain appropriate and respectful boundaries.
Listening to Children
Children should be able to express concerns and know that their wellbeing matters.
Responsible Action
Concerns about a child's welfare should be taken seriously and handled responsibly.
Digital Safety
Safety by Design.
Lovia's digital learning environment has been designed to limit unnecessary public exposure and reduce opportunities for unsafe interaction.
- No public student personal information
- No public student profiles
- No public comments
- No open messaging
- No child-to-stranger contact
- No unrestricted learner uploads
- No public ranking of children
- No learner microphone or recording functionality in the current Learning World
These choices keep the current learning experience focused on learning rather than public social interaction.
Privacy & Dignity
Children Are Learners, Not Content.
Lovia's current public learning experience does not depend on children creating public profiles, posting public comments, or building a public audience.
Learning should not require a child to become publicly visible.
This approach supports a quieter digital environment centered on learning, exploration, practice, and growth.
School & Family
Protecting Children Requires Responsible Adults.
Children benefit when the adults around them take their wellbeing seriously.
Schools and families each have an important role in creating respectful environments, noticing concerns, listening carefully, and acting responsibly when a child's welfare may be affected.
At Lovia, safeguarding belongs within the wider partnership between school and family and within our commitment to educating the whole child.
Our Responsibility
Safety Makes Learning Possible.
Children learn best when they are treated with dignity, supported with care, and able to participate in learning without unnecessary public exposure.
Lovia's commitment is to keep the safety and wellbeing of children connected to the decisions we make about their learning experience.
