Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
Educating the whole child, not only the examination.
The Whole Child
Education Is Bigger Than an Examination.
A Lovia education is designed around the whole child: what a child knows, how a child thinks, who a child is becoming, and how a child contributes to others.
Academic growth matters, but education does not end with academic results. Care and support, individual strengths, character, creativity, citizenship and service, technology and digital literacy, and partnership with families all contribute to a child's development.
We want children to build knowledge and skills while also becoming curious thinkers, confident communicators, responsible citizens, creative problem-solvers, and people who care about others.
Every Child
We Teach the Child in Front of Us.
Children do not all begin in the same place, learn at the same pace, or show their strengths in the same way.
Lovia's philosophy is to help each learner build from where they are — strengthening foundations, developing confidence, discovering their strengths, and creating opportunities to go further.
The goal is not simply to move a child through a grade. It is to help the child make meaningful progress.
Start where you are. Keep going further.
How We Learn
Children Learn in Different Ways.
Learning becomes stronger when children can encounter an idea in more than one way. A learner may need to hear it, see it, read it, practice it, explore it, create something with it, or try it in a real situation.
That is why Lovia's learning approach creates different ways to engage with knowledge rather than relying on one method alone.
- Learn
- Watch
- Play
- Read
- Explore
- Create
- Practice
These are not simply activities. Together, they give learners different ways to understand, practice, apply, and deepen what they are learning.
A Foundation for Learning
English Opens Doors to Learning.
Strong listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills help children participate more confidently across the curriculum.
Lovia therefore gives English literacy particular attention as a foundation for wider learning. Learners should be able to begin at the level where they need support and build confidence step by step.
- Listen
- Speak
- Phonics
- Read
- Vocabulary
- Understand
- Write
Start where you are.
Practical Learning
Understanding Grows Through Doing.
Children should have opportunities to investigate questions, solve problems, test ideas, create, build, observe, and improve.
Practical learning helps students connect knowledge to real situations and understand why what they are learning matters.
In science, STEM, computing, and other areas of learning, Lovia's approach encourages curiosity, investigation, problem-solving, and reflection — not simply memorization.
- Ask
- Predict
- Build or Test
- Observe
- Explain
- Improve
Place & Purpose
Rooted in Ghana. Prepared for the World.
Learning should help children understand the communities, environment, history, challenges, and opportunities around them.
Ghana is not separate from learning. It can provide the context for questions, stories, investigation, creativity, citizenship, and problem-solving.
At the same time, students need the knowledge, digital confidence, critical-thinking skills, creativity, and global awareness to participate in a changing world.
Lovia seeks to help children understand where they come from while developing the confidence and capability to go further.
Who We Become
Knowledge Should Shape Character and Contribution.
Education is not only about what a student can do. It is also about the kind of person a student is becoming.
Respect, integrity, responsibility, compassion, courage, service, and the pursuit of excellence should be part of everyday learning.
Lovia wants students to understand that knowledge carries responsibility: what we learn can help us make better decisions, serve others, strengthen communities, and contribute to society.
Character. Courage. Service.
Together
Children Go Further When Adults Work Together.
Education is strengthened when families, teachers, staff, and students work in partnership.
Parents know their children in ways a school cannot. Teachers see how learners engage, struggle, grow, and discover new strengths. Students themselves should increasingly understand and participate in their own learning.
Lovia's philosophy recognizes these relationships as an important part of helping every child grow.
Every Child Can Go Further.
Lovia School believes education should help children know more, think more deeply, grow in character, discover their strengths, and use what they learn with purpose.
We begin with the child in front of us — and help that child take the next step.
