Parents

Parents

Children Go Further When Adults Work Together. Families and school each bring important knowledge, encouragement and responsibility to a child's education.

Partnership

Family and School as Partners.

Parents know their children in ways a school cannot — their personalities, their history, their hopes and the small changes that matter. Teachers observe how children engage, learn, struggle and grow in the classroom day by day.

When that knowledge is shared, children benefit. Families, teachers, staff — and increasingly children themselves — each share responsibility for supporting learning and character. Trust, listening and respectful communication are what make that partnership work.

This page explains how Lovia understands that shared role, and how the partnership works in practice today.

Communication

Staying Connected With Families.

Lovia uses a combination of direct and written communication to stay in touch with families, including phone calls, SMS/text, email, printed notices, letters sent home and in-person conversations.

This mix of channels means families can receive information from the school and can speak with the school directly when something needs to be discussed.

Progress

Understanding Your Child's Progress.

Lovia holds parent-teacher meetings, giving families the opportunity to sit with teachers and understand how a child is learning, engaging and growing.

The school also provides report cards and progress reports, giving families a record of their child's progress in learning.

Together, conversations and written reports help parents stay close to their child's education and support them where it matters most.

Learning at Home

Learning Continues at Home.

Lovia provides parents with guidance on helping their children learn at home — because learning does not stop at the classroom door.

Reading together, talking about the day, following a child's curiosity and exploring new ideas as a family are all simple, powerful ways to support learning. Encouragement at home reinforces the confidence and habits children build at school.

Additional Support

Additional Learning Support.

In some cases, Lovia provides additional weekend tutoring for older students who can benefit from further support with their learning.

Families who would like to know more are welcome to speak with the school.

Learning World

Explore Learning Together.

Lovia Learning World is Lovia's digital learning environment — free to browse, with no account needed. It includes seven ways of learning: Learn, Watch, Play, Read, Explore, Create and Practice.

Current learning areas include English & Literacy, STEM and Discover Ghana. It is designed with low-cost phones, limited data and shared devices in mind, so families can explore available learning together with a child beyond the classroom.

Character

Character Grows Through Partnership Too.

Family-school partnership is about more than academics. It also shapes the development of responsibility and character — guided by Lovia's core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Leadership and Community.

Our motto, Character. Courage. Service., is a commitment shared by the school and the families who entrust their children to it. When adults model these values together, children learn to live them.

Safeguarding

Safety, Dignity and Respect.

Every child at Lovia has the right to be safe, to be treated with dignity, and to have their wellbeing protected. Lovia's approach to safeguarding centres on safety, dignity, wellbeing, rights, appropriate boundaries, listening and responsible action.

Parents can read more about how Lovia approaches the safety and dignity of every child on our Safeguarding page.

Concerns

When You Need to Talk With the School.

If you have a concern about your child, you can raise it by speaking directly with the Head Master or with a teacher. The school wants parents to feel able to talk with it — concerns are best addressed early and together.

Practical Information

Practical Information for the School Day.
